My artwork is largely about the intersection between the organic and the synthetic. Thus my printed images tend towards subjects such as architecture, flowers, or surreal versions of the human condition- using experimental processes (both digital and analog) to mix these worlds together.
The wild, natural world my have my heart, but the the great cities will always have my mind and eye. Nothing stands as better testament to the ambition and innovation of mankind as does the city. To walk in the city is to touch the pulse of the dreams that caused it and to be immersed in the sights, sounds and aromas of the lives which continue it growth. As a photographer I have long been drawn to these places and my lens is turned with equal fervor to capture both structural beauty and the human condition alike.
"Every flower is a soul blossoming in nature" - Gerard De Nerval
Few things in my life produce more joy than stopping and smelling (or photographing) the roses. Cliché, I know, but in flowers I find a kind of delicate, heart-stopping power and grace that tends to create moments in which I feel ever so slightly closer to God. It is these moments which inspired my GeoFlower series featured on this site as well as my Fine Art site. All are available to purchase as prints, metals, canvases or greeting cards and make the best kind of gift!
Sharing in the human condition happens on both sides of the lens and the goal with any photograph is to capture the truest version of a moment in time. No where is this truth more apparent than in the realm of portrait photography. Whether with seniors, models, professionals or families, my aim is to create the most comfortable experience I can so that the best, most authentic you can shine through. My portrait work is a practiced balance of tradition and innovation which ensures images that are as timeless as they are stunningly unique.
