MASCULINE ENDEAVORS
Masculine Endeavors is a series of performances exploring traditional rites of masculinity and questioning their validity, necessity, and relevance today. Through my own vulnerability—and at times complete naivete, such as not knowing how to hunt or skin an animal—the critique becomes entangled with failure. The works reveal masculinity as both fragile and performative, where strength often emerges through vulnerability. Humor and absurdity thread through the series, particularly in Fix and Chop, which subvert masculine labor through performance and presentation alike.
